I remember as a kid one of my favorite things was Nutella! I loved it on a piece of toast. This is a much healthier version without hydrogenated oils and cane sugar.
-2 cups hazelnuts
-1/4 cup raw cacao
-1/3 cup maple syrup or coconut nectar
-1/2 cup water
1. You have two options: soak the hazelnuts in water overnight, then drain and rinse, to reduce the phytates making it easier to digest or roast the hazelnuts in the oven for 10 minutes for flavor purpose.
2. If you roasted the hazelnuts, allow them to cool.
3. Then place in a high speed food processor (important in order to come out smooth) , and allow to blend for about 10 minutes until it starts to become creamy. Then add sweetener and cacao and blend again.
4. Once those ingredients are blended well, start adding 1/2 cup of water gradually.
